QIDI Plus 4 review: this buying guide examines the printer’s listed features and the checks to make before buying remaining stock or a used unit. It is a specification-based assessment; it does not report hands-on print tests.

Table of Contents
QIDI Plus 4: Availability comes first
QIDI’s official Plus4 page now marks the model as discontinued and directs buyers to the Plus5. A listing price is not confirmation that a printer is available to order. Check the seller, regional stock, warranty coverage and replacement-part availability before paying.
Listed hardware and controls
The manufacturer lists a 305 × 305 × 280 mm build volume, automatic calibration, active chamber heating, a 5-inch touchscreen and Klipper firmware. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from our own test bench.
Multi-color printing: check the required hardware
QIDI describes multi-color capability through the QIDI Box accessory. This does not establish an independent dual-extruder system, or IDEX. Do not assume that the base printer supports IDEX duplication or mirror printing. Confirm the accessory bundle and compatibility with QIDI for the exact unit you intend to buy.
Is it suitable for your projects?
Start with the dimensions of your largest part and the material it requires. A roomy build area is useful only if the printer, filament and settings can produce the part reliably. For engineering filaments, ask about the nozzle, chamber settings and recommended profiles for your particular material.
For multi-color projects, compare the complete accessory cost, material waste and maintenance effort with a current printer. A low price on the base machine can be less attractive once those costs are included.
Questions for a remaining-stock or used seller
- Is the unit new, refurbished or used, and what does the warranty cover?
- Which accessories are included, and what costs extra?
- Are firmware updates and replacement parts available for this unit?
- Can the seller provide a recent print sample using your intended material?
- What are the return conditions if the machine arrives faulty?
Verdict
The Plus4 deserves consideration only after stock, support and total cost are clear. Buyers who need ongoing manufacturer availability should compare the current successor and other supported models. This guide does not substantiate a print-speed benchmark, a quality rating or a guaranteed discount.

QIDI Plus 4: Questions Before Choosing
Will it work with my existing printing setup?
Check the exact machine, material and accessory combination rather than relying on the brand name alone. Filament diameter, spool dimensions, nozzle requirements and recommended profiles can change between products. For hardware, confirm the workspace and electrical requirements before ordering. Start with a small calibration print when trying a new material, and keep the settings that produced the result for a fair comparison.
What should I compare besides the advertised price?
Compare the complete purchase: the machine or spool, required accessories, delivery, consumables and replacement parts. A bundle is useful only if it contains items you will actually use. For a discontinued model, ask which parts and software remain supported. Check the seller’s returns policy before treating an inexpensive listing as better value than a current, supported alternative.
How can I assess the performance claims?
Look for the material, printer settings, measurement method and repeatability behind a sample or benchmark. A promotional photograph is not a controlled comparison. Use the specifications and limitations discussed in this article to form questions for the supplier; do not assume that the listed maximum speed or claimed precision will apply to every part, material and setup.
